What to Expect
If you are new to our clinic, here are the steps you would generally follow to determine your treatment program:

1. Call to find out if we are right for you, and what kind of results we typically see for your condition.

2. Book a 1-hour initial visit with a naturopathic doctor (ND) to receive a full assessment & treatment program. Your first visit will include a history of your condition and recommendations for testing to help clarify your current state of health, plus factors which contributed to your illness.

3. Additional tests & exams may include:

  • physical exam (typically during 2nd ND visit)
  • food sensitivity testing
  • thermography (organ function screening)
  • hair analysis (mineral screening)
  • metabolic analysis (digestive efficiency)
  • structural assessment, German New Medicine assessment
  • identification of unresolved emotional traumas and/or medical tests as required (i.e. bloodwork, Xrays, etc.)

4. Based on these results, your naturopathic doctor will recommend a treatment program which may include:

  • lifestyle changes such as balancing sleep, food, exercise, work and leisure
  • detoxification regime
  • nutritional supplements, homeopathic remedies and herbal tinctures
  • bodywork such as massage, orthotherapy, Bowen therapy
  • acupuncture (traditional, symptomatic, acudetox or auricular)
  • resolution of emotional traumas (psychotherapy, NLP, hypnosis, JourneyWork and/or life coaching)
  • exploring and deepening your spirituality

5. On a regular basis, your health care team will communicate together and with you to provide recommendations for future treatment programs and how to monitor your condition either here or with your own health care practitioner.

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

From the Canadian Association of
Naturopathic Doctors
:

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care system blending modern scientific knowledge with traditional & natural forms of medicine.

Naturopathic doctors diagnose, treat, and prevent disease using natural therapies including botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, naturopathic manipulation, traditional Chinese medicine/acupuncture, and lifestyle counselling.

Naturopathic doctors are primary health care providers with 7 years post-secondary education that practice safe, effective, science-based natural health care.
